Phelps entered their tilt with Academy of the New Church on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 66-59 win over Academy of the New Church. The victory was all the more spectacular given Phelps' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Academy of the New Church is ranked 25th).

When it comes to explaining why Academy of the New Church lost, don't look at Dior Carter. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Smith, who went 7-for-15 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Phelps pushed their record up to 14-22 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points over those games. As for Academy of the New Church, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Coming up, Phelps will square off against Cristo Rey Philadelphia at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Academy of the New Church does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
