The Satsuma Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by Jackson 68-27. Satsuma has struggled against Jackson recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Jackson found their leader in underclassman Keeyun Chapman, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. Chapman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Micah Caster, who scored 15 points.
Satsuma dropped their record down to 1-21 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Jackson, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.
Satsuma will head out on the road to take on Fruitdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fruitdale is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jackson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Escambia County at 7:30 p.m. Escambia County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
