The Bainbridge Bearcats will face off against the Grace Christian Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bainbridge took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Miller County a 4-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Parker Landrum's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bainbridge is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Benji Dollar was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Luke Griffin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 9-4.
The team relied heavily on Noah Smith, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Oathen Atkinson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Grace Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Bainbridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bainbridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Grace Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
