Silver has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Valencia Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valencia took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Silver, who comes in off a win.
Silver put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past St. Pius X, posting a 46-0 win on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Silver just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Adan Jacquez, who threw for 263 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Richard, who picked up 89 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Valencia ended up a good deal behind Grants on Friday and lost 35-21. Valencia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Isaiah Rodriguez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Even if they lost, Valencia's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Aiden Gonzalez and his two sacks.
Silver's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Valencia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Silver has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Valencia struggles in that department as they've been even better at 201.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Silver was able to grind out a solid win over Valencia in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 13-0. Will Silver repeat their success, or does Valencia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
