After a string of eight wins, Tyler HEAT's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Mabank 55-49.
Despite the loss, Tyler HEAT still got an impressive performance from Jackson Tomlin, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tomlin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Grimes, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Tyler HEAT's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-6. As for Mabank, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyler HEAT will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marshall Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Mabank, they will head out on the road to square off against Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
