Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newman International Academy). They took down the Community Christian Warriors 59-43 on Tuesday. For Newman International Academy, this counts as revenge for the 40-34 victory Community Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2021.

Newman International Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Pillow, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Those 25 points gave Pillow a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arianna Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Newman International Academy pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points per game. As for Community Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Newman International Academy will square off against UME Preparatory Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Community Christian, they will challenge Azle Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
