We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Franklin-Simpson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cumberland County on Saturday. Franklin-Simpson put the hurt on Cumberland County with a sharp 13-6 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kloie Smith, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Holland, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Smith wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Franklin-Simpson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Edmonson County got themselves on the board against Hart County on Saturday, but Hart County never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders 8-0. The Wildcats have beaten the Raiders the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Raiders has come to flipping the script.
Julie Norris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Jolee Vincent was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Haley Sanders was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
Franklin-Simpson pushed their record up to 5-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Edmonson County, their record now sits at 4-2.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Franklin-Simpson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like Edmonson County struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
