The Windsor Warriors lost to the Newington Nor'easters back in December of 2023, but the Windsor Warriors didn't allow the Newington Nor'easters the same satisfaction on Friday. Windsor walked away with a 51-42 win over Newington. The victory was all the more spectacular given Windsor's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Newington is ranked third).
Newington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Miller, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Bela Cucuta was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two blocks.
Windsor now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Newington, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3.
Windsor will take on RHAM at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Newington, they will head out on the road to take on Hartford Public at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hartford Public is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
