South Gibson has won three straight games at home, while Crockett County has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, South Gibson beat Lexington 27-20.
Tyshaun Jeter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 158 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because South Gibson is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Gibson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 329 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

South Gibson's defense stepped up as well, laying out Ross Wilson three times. In that department, Yahya Gaad was the leader with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.
Meanwhile, Crockett County strolled past Dyersburg with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 42-28.
South Gibson better keep an eye on Dk Woods. He was instrumental in Crockett County's win, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Woods really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Ben Burgess, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only eight carries.
South Gibson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Crockett County, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. South Gibson has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 261.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crockett County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 212.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for South Gibson against Crockett County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 42-14 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
