The Pride put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 8-2 victory on Thursday. The game was the first time the Pride have beaten the Huskies on their field since May 25, 2022.
Aaron Van Tuyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Erick Flores was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Miskelly, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Woodgrove's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Paul VI on Wednesday. The Wolverines came out on top against Herndon by a score of 6-1.
Vincenzo Cusat made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cusat was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Patrick Lyons, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Brodie Carley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Woodgrove's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
