Truman's Devonte McGregor rumbled for the longest rushing play in Downriver this season in his game against Allen Park last week. McGregor scampered for 97 yards on the play and finished with 115 on the day as his team defeated the Jaguars.
Truman extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Allen Park, 29-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Roosevelt's dynamic duo of Kevin Matejko and Devan Stewart proved tough for Woodhaven to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Matejko threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns and Stewart had 101 yards receiving. D'Aries Davis helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching one ball for 39 yards.
The Bears' Matejko and Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Matejko has thrown for 1500 yards this season, while Stewart, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 30 catches for 674 yards. Nick Maher from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 1605 yards.
The top two teams in Downriver will face off this week when first place Truman takes on second place Roosevelt. Last week, the Cougars defeated Tom Hoover's team, while Roosevelt beat Woodhaven.
In 104 carries Marcus Carter has accumulated 968 yard this year.
