Liberty has gone 9-1 against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lancers will take on the Broncos at 2:00 p.m. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Liberty was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Medical Lake on Friday. The Lancers blew past the Cardinals 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Jordyn Jeske made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Liberty let Sadie Stout and Haylee Mitzimberg run wild. Stout went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Mitzimberg went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Kelley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Liberty lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna lost 25-10 to Connell on Friday. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Liberty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
