The Manning Monarchs suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. Their tough 63-39 loss to Waccamaw might stick with them for a while. Manning was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taniya Johnson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Tahirah Wellington, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Manning's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Waccamaw, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manning will stay at home for another game and welcome Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Aynor is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Waccamaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgetown has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
