Softball Recap: Willcox's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of six wins, Willcox's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts by a score of 6-5. If the Cowboys were looking for revenge after losing 8-2 to the Thunderbolts when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Willcox saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abi Tingle, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Willcox's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Mica Mountain, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Coming up, Willcox will challenge Santa Rita at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mica Mountain, they will square off against Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
