Softball Recap: Desert Chapel Comes Up Short

Desert Chapel lost against Redlands Adventist Academy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 24-14. On the bright side, the 14- run effort marked the Eagles' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Hailey Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Kylie Gilbert was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Desert Chapel dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Redlands Adventist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Chapel will take on Loma Linda Academy at 3:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Redlands Adventist Academy, they will face off against Calvary Baptist at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
