There's no place like home for The Valley Center Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Andover 27-7. Valley Center's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Dai'mont Mucker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 213 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 82 receiving yards. Mucker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Valley Center's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Andover, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Center will challenge Arkansas City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arkansas City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Valley Center is ranked 39th). As for Andover, they will head out on the road to face off against Andover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Andover Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
