Matthew Miller produced another solid effort rushing for 105 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. Jackson Sanders was another key player, throwing for 133 yards and one TD.
Williamsville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Griffin Liles, Anthony Beckman, and Mason Griffin, who each picked up one sack apiece. Williamsville got some further help from Liles: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Tolono Unity made off with a 21-20 win over Monticello. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Rockets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Williamsville better keep an eye on Crewe Eckstein. He was instrumental in Tolono Unity's win, rushing for 159 yards and one score.
Williamsville's record now sits at 11-0. As for Tolono Unity, their record is now 10-1.
Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Williamsville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 213.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tolono Unity struggles in that department as they've been averaging 177.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Williamsville ended up a good deal behind Tolono Unity in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, losing 35-21. Can the Bullets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
