The Fairborn Skyhawks lost against the Xenia Buccaneers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Fairborn suffered a rough 46-22 loss at the hands of Xenia. Fairborn has not had much luck with Xenia recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Xenia was led to victory by Alaiya Meaux and Nataiya Madison. Meaux scored 10 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds, while Madison dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tayler Elliott, who scored 6 points.
Fairborn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Xenia, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairborn will square off against Stebbins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Stebbins presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fairborn in Ohio (Stebbins is ranked 171st, while Fairborn is ranked 368th). As for Xenia, they will head out on the road to face off against Piqua at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Piqua and Xenia are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
