Chaz Martin had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Another back making a difference was Antuan Mckethan, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Wilson Central's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Mike Palmer and Evan Harwell. Palmer also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, LaVergne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell to Siegel 28-22. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Stars are ranked 99th).
The win got Wilson Central back to even at 1-1. As for LaVergne, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
