Having just played yesterday, the Howland Tigers will get right back to it and host the Louisville Leopards at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. Howland will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Howland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Hathaway Brown on Thursday as Howland made off with a 67-43 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-17.
Alyssa Massucci was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Howland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Adams, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Louisville sidestepped Archbishop Hoban for a 45-43 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Louisville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Archbishop Hoban is ranked third).
Howland's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Louisville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Howland came up short against Louisville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 54-41. Will Howland have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
