Make it eight blowout wins for the Mt. Pleasant Tigers this season. They blew past Summertown 73-53. The victory was familiar territory for Mt. Pleasant who now have five in a row.
Mt. Pleasant was led to victory by Jakyri McClure and Ryan Benderman. McClure dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Benderman dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Benderman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Holt, who scored 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Summertown lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Grayson Burleson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson Bennett was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Summertown, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season.

As for Summertown, they and the Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lewis County has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
