The Sweeny Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Brazosport Exporters at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sweeny's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Sweeny fell victim to Needville's stalwart defense on Monday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 5-0 loss at the hands of the Bluejays. Meanwhile, Brazosport's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 4-1 loss at the hands of Columbia.
Sweeny has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-1 record this season. As for Brazosport, they dropped their record down to 4-9-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Sweeny came up short against Brazosport in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Sweeny avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
