It was a good run, but the Fort Collins Lambkins unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 65-55 to Fossil Ridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fort Collins lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marcel Herrera, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jayce King, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Fossil Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cayden Clagett led the charge by scoring 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Hughes, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Fort Collins' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Fossil Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Collins will face off against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Range will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Fossil Ridge will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
