They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 83-45 win over Brandon Academy. The result was nothing new for North Tampa Christian Academy, who have now won three matches by 34 points or more so far this season.
North Tampa Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landyn Colyer, who scored 27 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Colyer is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Toni Bryant , who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Brandon Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Hawes. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 0 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshaun Tims, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Brandon Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Tampa Christian Academy only racked up 19.
North Tampa Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Brandon Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Carrollwood Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrollwood Day knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Brandon Academy likes a good challenge.
