Pottsville can attribute much of their success to Letrel Montone, who made all 7 shots he took to post 20 points. That's the most points Montone has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Christian Alvarez, who put up 11 points.
Minersville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shazier Bethea, who on his way to 15 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Jordan Bowers was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.
Pottsville's record is now 19-6. As for Minersville, their loss dropped their record down to 21-4.
Pottsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Minersville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame-Green Pond at 6:00 p.m. on February 26th. Notre Dame-Green Pond knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Minersville likes a good challenge.
