Basketball Recap: Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Piles Up the Points Against the Daniel Academy

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The Daniel Academy Lions 53-10. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sabra Bergh, who went 8 of 12 to rack up 17 points along with six boards and five steals. Bergh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last five games she's played. Sofia Levine was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.7 points over those games. As for The Daniel Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy and St. Joseph D will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th. Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's defense has only allowed 25.1 points per game this season, so St. Joseph D's offense will have their work cut out for them. The Daniel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
