North Bay recap December 3, 2013
Casa Grande extended the longest winning streak in North Bay this week by beating Montgomery, 42-13. The victory was the 13th in a row for the team.
The Vikings lost to Casa Grande 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Logan Francavilla was a bright spot for Montgomery, as he ran for 155 yards in the loss.
John Porchivina provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Trent Herzog's team beat Dean Haskins' team. Porchivina's key target this week was Cody Hughson, who caught 2 passes for 67 yards.
Porchivina was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 201 yards on 15 carries as the Gauchos defeated the Vikings. JaJuan Lawson also contributed to the rushing game with 75 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback Lawson of Casa Grande is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,006. He has also thrown 22 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Etienne Ezeff. The Montgomery star has 43 catches for 636 yards.
In 109 carries Carlos Franco has accumulated 920 yard this year.
The Gauchos led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Montgomery. Porchivina ran for 201 yards in the win.
