The Westmark Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 57-30 loss at the hands of San Fernando Valley Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Westmark of the 60-35 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 11th.
San Fernando Valley Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Corral, who scored 25 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Corral scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Neprix Sisona, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
Westmark dropped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Fernando Valley Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westmark and the Eagles will face off at 3:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for San Fernando Valley Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on January 31st. Pilgrim is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
