On Friday Middleton take on Walnut at Middleton High School at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close game.
Middleton might be aching after a bruising 30-59 loss to Wayne County last week. Middleton's defeat came about despite a quality game from sophomore Luke Turner, who passed for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Walnut were fully in charge, breezing past Byers 52-8. Walnut was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Walnut's win lifted them to 2-1 while Middleton's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Walnut can add another positive mark to their record or if Middleton can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Walnut's step.
