Jason Phillips made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Plano's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Phillips was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
