The Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars came tearing into Wednesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 60-48 victory over Northeast. Given Pembroke Pines Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Northeast is ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pembroke Pines Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremy Elyzee, who scored 16 points. Elyzee has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ramez Zayed, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Pembroke Pines Charter is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Pembroke Pines Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northeast will face off against Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
