The Massanutten Military Academy Colonels lost against the Fishburne Military Caissons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Massanutten Military Academy had to suffer through a rough 80-40 loss at the hands of Fishburne Military. Massanutten Military Academy has not had much luck with Fishburne Military recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Giovanni Belisle was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds for Fishburne Military. Belisle is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Allyn Koger was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds.
Fishburne Military's lineup was just a bit different on Monday as Aaron Legg got a bit more time on the court (ten vs. his season average of five). Legg made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with two steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Massanutten Military Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Fishburne Military, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massanutten Military Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Legacy Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Fishburne Military, they will head out on the road to square off against Miller School of Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
