Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Francis W. Parker + How To Watch

Morgan Park Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Francis W. Parker Colonels 51-17 on Monday. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colonels, too.

Morgan Park Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tiara Williams led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The contest was Williams' fourth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecelia Drown, who posted 11 points and seven steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Morgan Park Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against British International School of Chicago at 5:00 p.m. on December 3. The game will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Francis W. Parker, they will head out to face off against Ridgewood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
