Solanco proved they can win big last Friday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Annville-Cleona Dutchmen 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Golden Mules, who have now won five contests in a row dating back to last season.
Lucas Vilk was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayden Herr, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Solanco's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solanco is headed away from home for the first time to take on Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Columbia will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Solanco surely won't give up without a fight. As for Annville-Cleona, they will take on Upper Dauphin Area at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
