The Fossil Ridge Sabercats''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against Poudre as Fossil Ridge made off with a 42-16 win. Fossil Ridge's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Leading Fossil Ridge to victory were Nick Kubat and Colton Pawlak. Kubat threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, while Pawlak gained 121 total yards and three touchdowns. Pawlak was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Mozer, who picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Poudre still got an impressive performance from Matthew Manss, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Poudre, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Fossil Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Castle View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poudre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
