They lost to Central Valley Christian at home by a decisive 42-24 margin on Friday. Washington Union has struggled against Central Valley Christian recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Washington Union still got an impressive performance from Jason Torres, who threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Ryan Brown was another key contributor, picking up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bryson Donelson had a dynamite game for Central Valley Christian, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards. Donelson's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Washington Union has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Central Valley Christian, their victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington Union will challenge Kerman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Central Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Immanuel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Immanuel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Central Valley Christian is ranked 95th).
