The Turlock Christian Eagles pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 76-57 to Big Valley Christian. While losing is never fun, Turlock Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1242nd, while Big Valley Christian is ranked 600th).
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raphael Babba, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Babba also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Ben Bylsma, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Turlock Christian and nudges their season record down to 5-13. As for Big Valley Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.
Turlock Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Stone Ridge Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Stone Ridge Christian is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Big Valley Christian, they will square off against Millennium at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
