Baseball Recap: Metuchen Wins Going Away Against Bernards

Metuchen barely beat Bernards the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Mountaineers 7-0 on Sunday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Mountaineers: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Joseph Conway's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, James Fenton was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cooper Crawford, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Metuchen's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bernards, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metuchen will host North Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 1, the Canucks 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bernards, they will be playing at home against Delaware Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
