Firth took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Jefferson with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Andrea Fielding was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Linlee Telford, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Snake River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to Preston.
Neiley Mangum made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Chloe Leavitt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Firth, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Snake River's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Firth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Snake River, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Firth's hitters?
Firth came out on top in a nail-biter against Snake River when the teams last played last Saturday, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
