Everything went their way against the Silver Lake Mustangs on Friday as the Shelton Bulldogs made off with a 76-55 win. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Mustangs on February 6th, they had to take a 45-38 defeat.
Shelton had a senior duo take command as Ben Myers dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds and Harper Thober went 8-for-11 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. Myers continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Ohlman, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points and six assists.
Despite the loss, Silver Lake had strong showings from Lane Conway, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points and four steals, and Landon Duester, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Casey Conway was another key player, putting up five points along with six assists and six boards.
The victory made it two in a row for Shelton and bumps their season record up to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Silver Lake, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
Shelton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Silver Lake is facing Meridian at the right time seeing as Meridian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
