The Heritage Christian Academy Eagles lost against the North River Christian Chargers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Heritage Christian Academy took a 46-32 bruising from North River Christian. While losing is never fun, Heritage Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while North River Christian is ranked 163rd).
Despite the defeat, Heritage Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Mellow June dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Knott, who scored six points.
Heritage Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for North River Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Banks Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North River Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tuscaloosa Home Educators will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
