TAPPS Division III District 1 recap November 13, 2013
Temple Christian's Josh Hite rumbled for the longest rushing play in TAPPS Division III District 1 this season in his game against San Jacinto Christian Academy last week. Hite scampered for 95 yards on the play and finished with 125 on the day as his team bested the Patriots.
Sacred Heart added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lake Country Christian, 41-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Colton Albracht was a passing and rushing force as San Jacinto Christian Academy lost to Temple Christian. He completed 7 passes for 67 yards and also ran for 86 yards. Albracht's favorite target this week was Jaylon Burnett, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Abel Mathews made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fellowship Academy fell to Calvary Christian. The 5-foot-8 senior recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Connor Moore put up the best numbers in passing as Steve Hohulin's team topped Dan Fort's team. He finished with 3 completions for 82 yards and 1 touchdown. Moore's favorite target this week was Chase Starling, who caught 2 passes for 74 yards.
Temple Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moore has thrown for 1,001 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Starling has 18 catches for 474 yards.
In 134 carries Michael Aguilar has put up 950 yards this year.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on the Patriots. Hite ran for 125 yards during the win.
