The Damascus Hornets were the 75-41 winner over the Paint Branch Panthers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Damascus was outmatched by Paint Branch at home and fell 77-36. Damascus was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paint Branch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Lee, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Tientcheu, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Damascus' defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1. As for Paint Branch, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.
Damascus will take on Walter Johnson at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Paint Branch, they will be playing at home against Einstein at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
