There's no place like home for the Dillon Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Aynor 64-30 at home. That 34 points margin sets a new team best for Dillon this season.
Dillon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zamaurious Robertson led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six steals. Jamarion Fling was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals.
Aynor lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Robinson Mendez, who scored ten points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Tanyika, who scored no points along with five steals.
Dillon's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Aynor, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dillon will face off against Red Springs at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 471st in North Carolina, while Dillon is ranked 105th in South Carolina). As for Aynor, they will head out on the road to challenge Waccamaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waccamaw is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game.
