South View is 0-6 against the Rams since February of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South View Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Purnell Swett Rams at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South View has five straight wins, the Rams have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, South View's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over Lumberton. Given South View's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Pirates are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nahmiah Aekins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Aekins hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordynn Parnell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Purnell Swett ended up a good deal behind the Buccaneers on Friday and lost 46-32.
South View is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Purnell Swett, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
South View might still be hurting after the 68-48 defeat they got from the Rams in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will South View have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
