The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Havelock had strong showings from Trevonte Simmons, who went 8 for 15 en route to 20 points plus four steals, and Javontae Barrie, who went 7 for 14 en route to 19 points plus three steals. Isaiah Prichard was another key player, posting four points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Croatan took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They really took it to Southside for the full four quarters, racking up a 90-39 win. The Cougars pushed the score to 75-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Seahawks had no chance of recovering from.
