The St. Francis Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the IMG Academy Ascenders at 12:30 p.m. on January 15th. One thing working in St. Francis' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
Last Friday, St. Francis faced Galloway in a battle between two of the state's top teams. In a tight match that could have gone either way, St. Francis made off with a 71-70 victory over Galloway. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Sa'Mya Wyatt was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Francis' points. Another player making a difference was Camryn Golston, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, IMG Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 73-56 to Grayson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. Francis is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for IMG Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-2.
