Alvin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Shadow Creek Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alvin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Wednesday, Alvin was beaten by the Oilers 70-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alvin has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shadow Creek beat the Rams 57-52 on Wednesday. Given Shadow Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Rams are ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alvin has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-23 record this season. As for Shadow Creek, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-12.
Alvin was dealt a bruising 54-22 loss at the hands of the Sharks when the teams last played back in January. Can Alvin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
