Suniya White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Phoebus got a massive performance out of Gianna Illiano, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Jada Jones, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Phoebus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Booker T. Washington only posted a batting average of .333.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Hampton's offense. They came up short against Kecoughtan on Thursday, falling 14-0. The Crabbers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Phoebus, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Phoebus might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Hampton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Phantoms have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
