Intercounty recap November 5, 2013
Cathedral's Derrick Boyd recorded the longest rushing play in Intercounty this season in his game against Turners Falls last week. Boyd scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 185 on the day as his team topped the Indians.
Cathedral moved up to 196 from 227 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mike Robidoux's team was able to move up by defeating Turners Falls 54-7.
Boyd was a passing and rushing force as the Panthers defeated Christopher Lapointe's team.
Jalen Sanders was the best receiver in the league this week as the Indians lost to Cathedral. Sanders racked up 3 receptions for 51 yards. Melvin Moreno helped Turners Falls' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 18 yards.
Turners Falls' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Malcolm Smith has thrown for 911 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Sanders has 30 catches for 452 yards.
Easthampton added to the longest winning streak in Intercounty this week by beating Ludlow, 44-12. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
